About New Grad RN Jobs

Galus is a registered nurse. He graduated from the Master's Direct Entry program at Columbia University School of Nursing in 2026 and is applying to new-grad residencies himself.

In nursing school he kept two things open at once: lecture slides he was turning into practice questions, and a long list of hospital career pages he checked by hand for residency dates. Vibe Nursing started as a tool he shared with classmates to do both. This site is the free part of that work: what he wishes he had known about each state before he started applying.

Programs. Vibe Nursing tracks new-grad RN programs at hospitals in all 50 states and DC: nurse residencies, and hospitals that hire new grads straight into RN jobs. Our checker reads each program's page, and a person on our team confirms a round's dates on the hospital's own page before the app shows the program as open. The counts on this site are the ones the app showed on Oct 29, 2026. The list of programs itself lives in the app.

Round lengths. The figures on how long application rounds stay open come from rounds our team confirmed this cycle with both an opening and a closing date: 33 rounds across 13 states. When one health system uses the same dates for many programs, that round is counted once.

Pay and jobs. From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey, May 2025, for registered nurses (occupation 29-1141), by state and by metro area. The survey covers all RNs and does not split pay by experience.
